Immersion to the medieval Montenegro is possible during a sea excursion to the Boka-Kotor Bay. Travelers will see the most striking sights of this region. They will visit medieval cities: Tivat, Perast, Kotor. A tour includes some of the oldest monasteries, churches of the Bay.

THE BOKA-KOTOR BAY: TOURS AND PROGRAMS

The sea tour to starts at 9:00. Guests and the guide will get to Tivat, see beautiful panoramas on the way to the Bay of Kotor, visit Kotor, Perast, Herceg Novi. On the way, tourists will see the Island called Our Lady of the Rocks.

TIVAT: THE BEGINNING

Guests arrive in Tivat —it is a beautiful and quiet town with a beautiful harbour and Porto Montenegro. The port was built by billionaires like Rockefeller, now owned by Arab princes. Tourists can freely enjoy the surrounding beauty, admire the snow-white yachts, take selfies and conduct photo shoots on the background of ships and palm trees.

From Tivat, the travelers will go further into the Bay. Vacationers will get on the ship. Traveling by sea, you can enjoy the views, take pictures, anticipate new experiences and communicate. Water expanses of Montenegro leave very positive impressions.

The journey takes place on a three-deck ship and the guests are placed on 2.5 floors of the ship. On the ship there is enough space for walking and exploring the sea. On the map it is easy to see the planned route; it must be passed during the voyage.

From Tivat, the ship will sail towards Kotor. Tourists will see the villages on a shore such are Stoliv, Risan, Orahovac, attracting with their special charm. Only after an hour and a half and tourists will get to Kotor, the most famous city of the coast. They will walk around the city and visit the most interesting sights.

Travelers will visit the local temples: the Cathedral of St. Tryphon, the monastery of St. Nicholas, the Church of St. Luke. These buildings are unique with their architecture. Inside you can see interesting sights and artifacts. It gives the impression of the Old town of Kotor, which preserved medieval buildings.

PERAST

Tour to Perast will be interesting for people of all generations. The architectural attractions of this city were built on revenues derived from Maritime trade. Perast flourished thanks to trade deals. And then there were many Russian sailors in this city that used to have sailing education. Peter I the Emperor of Russia ordered to noble people to attend this famous Perast sailing school.

Visitors will see buildings of different periods here: palaces, museums, churches, temples. Over there is the architecture of the Baroque: extravagant, unusual, peculiar. You can take pictures; arrange the whole photo session as many tourists do. Perast is really small, but memorable.

ISLAND OUR LADY OF THE ROCKS

Near Perast there are Islands: Our Lady of the Rocks and St. George. The island of Our Lady of the Rocks is a unique artificial place, which is definitely worth seeing in Montenegro during the tour to the Bay of Kotor. Here you can visit the Catholic Church, the altar of which is made of four types of marble. Some of the breeds are expensive even today. In the old days, this altar was considered priceless — at that time the stone used to worth more than gold.

The temple stores the charms of the sailors. Today there are 2.5 thousand of them. There are artifacts from different materials, including bronze, silver and gold. There’s also a 300-year-old organ that still works. On the ground floor of the Church hangs a chandelier made of noble Murano glass, which is 150 years old. On the second floor of the Church tourists will see archaeological finds.

ISLAND OUR LADY OF THE ROCKS
HERCEG NOVI

From the sea, the group members will get a view to Herceg Novi — one of the most famous resort cities in Montenegro. In the middle ages there was a pirate Fort, a haven for all the dashing people. It wasn’t safe in Herceg Novi at that time but today it’s different. The city is a resort area, the quality of the beaches is on amazing level.

Not far from Herceg Novi is the island of Mamula. It got its name in honor of the outstanding Serbian General. Once it was called Lastočkin. In the Bay of Kotor excursions are often stopping here — Mamula attracts all the guests with its charm.

What else can you see in these places? After inspection of the island Mamula you should visit the beach called Zanjice. This is a unique place with an Adriatic lagoon, blue water, caves, real rocks. Tourists will be able to swim and relax here. Such stops are very useful for vacationers. The Blue cave is accessible for couple of euro.

The blue cave is half filled with water. The glare plays on its arches. Tourists swim here, take pictures, enjoy the impressions. After visiting the Blue cave, the ship moves in the opposite direction.
