Tour Open Balkans — a route that will reveal to tourists all the beauty of the Balkan countries: Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania. Tourists can see the most impressive sights: canyons, parks, monasteries, old towns, waterfalls. Open Balkans combines three separate tours at once. A trip to the Balkans will leave an unforgettable impression.
The tour lasts three days, and on the first day tourists visit the Grand Canyons in Montenegro. The journey begins from afar: tourists will see the panorama of Sveti Stefan than visit Skadar lake — the famous bird sanctuary, then pass Podgorica and get to the Moraca Canyon. After admiring the views of the canyon, they go further. Nearby is the monastery of Moraca, that is in use. A visit to this place will especially please the faithful ones.
The next stop is Tara canyon, where you can enjoy unusual views. Tara is the deepest European canyon, it is the second deepest in the world. Over the river there is the bridge Djurđevića Tara — another local landmark. Also, tourists will visit the National Park called Durmitor, see the Black lake and the Bay Of Kotor.
The tour to Bosnia and Herzegovina can be started directly from Montenegro. Passing by Herceg Novi in the Bay of Kotor, tourists get to another country. The most of countries do not need a visa to travel. One of the attractions of the country — Trebinje. This is a bright and unusual city, whose history dates back to antiquity. Here tourists can see the temples and mosques, visit the panorama hill.
In Trebinje there is the monastery of Tvrdos. It is believed that this building is from the time of Emperor Constantine The Great. At least the foundation of the temple is from the IV century. Later the monastery was completed and restored. One of the people that took a part in restoring this monastery was Saint Basil of Ostrog The Miracleworker.
From the natural beauty the best to look at are the Waterfalls Kravice. Tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy the widest of the waterfalls in the Balkans. The next point in the tour to Mostar, the legendary city with its bridge that is listed by UNESCO. Walking around the old town will leave positive memories.
You meeting with Albania begins with Shkoder. It is a city located near the Albanian part of Skadar lake. Shkoder has been established in the VI century BC It is the most visited city of Albania from Montenegro. Shkoder is considered as a city of contrasts — here you can find luxury cars and modest carts with horses and donkeys, beautiful buildings and small houses. In the old town of Shkoder the main street is considered as very touristic.
Outside of Shkoder, tourists can see the Rozafa castle. It is associated with a romantic legend, which your guide is going to tell you. The fortress is old, it was built a long time ago, so today it looks dilapidated. Outside the city you can also see the mountain peaks.
The main city in Albania is Tirana. People come here for rest, sightseeing, walking and shopping. In Tirana you can see a lot of shopping centers with a rich assortment. During the tour, vacationers will be able to see the most interesting places of the Albanian capital, to make a lot of photos, visit the local Museum which is the largest bunker in Albania, which was provided to be the shelter for the government members in a case of war.
You may be particularly interested in mosques and temples in the city. In Tirana there are buildings made in different styles. Here you can find houses in European style (mostly German) and Ottoman. After seeing all the beauty of Tirana, tourists will return with a guide to Montenegro, where the tour started.
