The starting point of the route is the ancient and one of the most picturesque cities in Montenegro, Perast. It is located at the foot of the hill of St. Elias, on the shore of the Bay of Kotor, opposite the Strait of Verige. In ancient times, Perast served as the Keeper of the entrance to the Boko-Kotor Bay. The territory of the city is an ideal structure of magnificent medieval monuments.

Next, we will visit an amazing island that has grown on a reef, thanks to 200 years of human effort. That’s how long it took to raise the land from the water to an area of 3000 m2. Former in ancient times, the reef shoal was gradually filled with failed ships, stones and building materials to strengthen the foundation of the future island. Today, the artificial stronghold is open for tourists.

The island of the Our Lady is attractive because of the ancient Church of the same name — the spiritual center is not only this small piece of land, but also the whole Perast. Going inside, we will see amazing icons and murals on the walls from the talented painter Tripo Kokolja, an altar of four kinds of marble, an organ, and many other amazing things. Here is the heart of the island-a unique icon of the mother of God from the needlewoman Jacinta Kunic, who gave her creation to the temple in the XVIII century. Jacinta used the most complex embroidery technique, which she perfected over this icon for 25 years. She also used her gray hair, which adorned the head of the mother of God. On the island there is an interesting Archaeological Museum, a lighthouse and a souvenir shop. During the tour on this territory you will hear more details about the history of the founding of the island and all the secrets and legends associated with it.

After an exciting walk through the streets of Perast we will go to an oyster farm. Among all 20 oyster farms in the country, this farm is located near Kotor, is the most popular among tourists. On site, you will see how shellfish are grown. In the small restaurant, you will be able to taste dishes from the freshest gifts of the Adriatic sea, carefully prepared by the owners of the farm.
